Dr Sheri Jarvis
Chartered Clinical Psychologist
I am a passionate Doctor of Clinical Psychology and have worked 15 years in mental health services working with adults, children and families. I enjoy getting to know individuals and finding what works well for them. I do this through using evidence-based therapeutic approaches to tailor my intervention to each individual.
The therapeutic approaches that I draw upon include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), systemic family therapy, cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) as well as developmental and attachment theories. My therapeutic approach is client-centred, non-judgemental and compassionate which allows me to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to work on achieving meaningful change.
My areas of interest include mental health difficulties such as anxiety, panic, low mood, phobias, low self-esteem and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). The areas in which I have developed a more specialist knowledge are neurodevelopmental difficulties, learning disabilities, school-related difficulties and perinatal mental health.
I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
